He died before 1920 at the age of 80.^4,5 (His wife was listed as a Widow in the 1920 Census.) (He may be the "Father" Mahnke that is buried in the Pilgrims Home Cemetery in Norwalk.)

Rieke died before 1930 at the age of 81.⁸ She was not listed in the 1930 Census, so it is assumed that she died before then.
