Elder Harold "Ted" WESTPFAHL was born on 22 August 1909 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.17,62 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.15 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.17 Ted died on 28 October 2003 at the age of 94 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54

Obituary Notes: "Elder 'Ted' Harold Westpfahl, 94, of Tomah, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1909, to August and Ella (Neas) Westpfahl at Tomah. He was united in marriage to Edna Rodefer Linder on Aug. 20, 1955. She preceded him in death Sept. 20, 2002. He was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. Ted worked as a patrolman for the township of Adrian. During the Monroe County Fair and the National Tractor Pull in Tomah, Ted parked cars at the fairgrounds. He also worked parking cars during the Cranfest in Warrens. He worked at and retired from the Tomah Co-op. His enjoyment was spending time with his family, reading, playing cards and watching TV.

He is survived by a son, Tom Westpfahl of Tomah; four daughters, Marguerite (Lindell) Williams of LA, Vivian Miracle of Mt. Horeb, Judy (Norman) Markgraf of Madison and Mary (Roger) Brockman of Tomah; 15 grandchildren, Susan (Harry) White Eagle of LA, Mark (Elaina) Jones of TX, Robin (Eric) Shaver of LA, Hiedi (Scott) Shaw of TX, Donna (Norman) Watchpocket of MI, Lisa (Shawn) Aeschlimann of Cross Plains, Tina Burrows of Mount Horeb, James (Vicki) Markgraf of Friendship, Jason (Tami) Markgraf of Madison, Lori (Jeff) McGinnis of Tomah, Craig (Tammy) Brockman of Camp Douglas, Staci (Ray) Habelman of Tomah, Debbie (Lowell) Prise of Tomah, Connie Westpfahl of NC and Sandy (Dennis) Vlies of DeForest; 31 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Irving (Martha) Rodefer of Gillette; four sisters-in-law, Gwen (Ed) Barrett, Jean Linder and Gertrude Westpfahl, all of Tomah, and Gayle Spatola of Madison; special friend Phyllis (Kenneth) Markgraf of Tomah; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Gilbert, Herbert and Otto; a sister, Leola Gamerdinger; and a grandson, Timothy Westpfahl.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. Pastor Mark T. Panning will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in the Town of Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m.. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, and at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service." He was buried on 1 November 2003 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

RODEFER, daughter of John Buford RODEFER and Janie Birdean NICHOLS, was born on 17 February 1916 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.54 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.32 She died on 20 September 2002 at the age of 86 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54 Edna was buried on 24 September 2002 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54,165 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
