Herbert bought the business when Mr. Gawron retired in 1951, and later sold the business to Jerry Keene. Herbert died on 16 May 1973 at the age of 65 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^50,54 He was buried on 19 May 1973 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^50,54 in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
