279. Merle Albert ZELLMER Jr. was born on 20 April 1947 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.⁵⁴ He died on 1 September 2004 at the age of 57 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.⁵⁴

Obituary Notes: "Merle Zellmer Jr., 57, of Milwaukee, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born April 20, 1947, in the City of Milwaukee, the son of Merle A. Zellmer Sr. and Ruth (Nemitz) Zellmer. He was united in marriage to Donna Marie (Witt) Zellmer on Dec. 25, 1984, in the Milwaukee area.

Merle really enjoyed being a man of many hats. He loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and was an avid artist with extreme talents. He loved putting smiles on the faces of the young and elderly as he handed them cotton candy and popcorn from his Candy Man truck. Later in years, he ran his produce in the Milwaukee area. He was a man who helped the food shelters and took great pride in doing so. Merle was the former director of Great Lakes Fishermen's Club of Milwaukee and was known as Captain Moe on Lake Michigan. His boat was called the Captain's Lounge.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna of Milwaukee; a sister, Charmaine (Gary) Sommerfield of Tomah; one brother-in-law, Donald (Kristin) Witt of B.C., Canada; two sisters-in-law, Elaine (Ken) Irish and Michelle Witt, all of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, a great-niece, uncles, aunts, cousins and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ruth Zellmer; two brothers, Eugene and Gregory; his in-laws, Donald and Elaine Witt; grandparents; many friends and other relatives.

Services were Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. at Alstadt-Tyborski-Ermenc-McLeod Funeral Home, 5325 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis. Entombment was at Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee." He was buried on 7 September 2004 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.⁵⁴ in the Forest Home Cemetery.
