230. Alton Leo "Rosie" ROSENOW was born on 26 April 1928 in Green Lake, Green Lake County, WI.³⁴ He died on 5 May 2004 at the age of 76 in La Crescent, Houston County, MN.³⁴

Obituary Notes: "Alton Leo 'Rosie' Rosenow, 76 of La Crescent, MN, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at the La Crescent Health Care Center. He was born on April 16, 1928, in Green Lake to Alvin E. and Garlinda A. (Wappler) Rosenow. Alton was a 1946 graduate of Tomah High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 and then with the Army Reserves until 1957. He married Lois Boldt on Nov. 26, 1955. He had farmed and operated Rosie's Repair Garage for many years. He had various jobs throughout his lifetime, retiring from Fiberite in Winona in 1989. Alton enjoyed playing cards and pool, hunting and fishing and riding around on his "lil buddy." He was a member of the Gittens-Leidel American Legion Post 595, La Crescent and the South Ridge United Methodist Church.

Alton is survived by two daughters, Audrey (Glen) Schossow of La Crescent and Linda (Richard Hermann) Davis of La Crescent; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Brad Buege) Schossow, Bradley Schossow, Daniel Schossow, Travis Schossow, Michael Davis, Shawn Davis and Tyler Davis; two sisters, Delores (John) Schumann of Tomah and LaVon Duer of Milwaukee; one brother, Duane (Joannie) Rosenow of New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Rosenow of Tomah; two brothers-in-law, Donald Boldt and Raymond Boldt, both of La Crescent; several nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Randy Eide. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents; two brothers, Eldor and Leroy; and a brother-in-law, Roanld Duer.

Funeral services were held today (Monday), May 10, at 11 a.m. at South Ridge United Methodist Church. Pastor Lora Sturm officiated. Burial with military rites was in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent and at the church today from 10 a.m. until time of the services."
