Delora M. WAPPLER and August Rudolph SCHAEFER were married on 11 November 1935 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^{34,113,219,220,221} Wedding Article: "St. John's Lutheran Church at Ridgeville was the scene of a pretty wedding on Monday evening, November 11 at 1:30 when Miss Delora Wappler became the bride of August Schaefer, with the Rev. C. E. Berg officiating. The couple was attended by Miss Martha Schaefer, sister of the groom as bridesmaid and Roy Wappler, brother of the bride as best man. The wedding march was played by Miss Esther Berg. The choir, consisting of four young ladies, sang two pleasing selections--one before the marriage service and one after.

The bride wore a lovely ankle-length gown of blue chiffon velvet and carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and swansonia. The bridesmaid wore a becoming gown of cinnamon colored silk crepe and carried a bouquet of roses and baby's breath. The groom and best man wore dark blue suits with rose boutonniere.

After the ceremony a delicious wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives at the home of the bride's parents. The newlyweds will go to home keeping on the groom's farm near Norwalk. Both contracting parties are well and favorably known and the best wishes and congratulations are extended to them for their future happiness."

August Rudolph SCHAEFER, son of Franz Friedrich Wilhelm SCHAEFER and Ida Amanda Eleanora PERGANDE, was born on 20 November 1907 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^{34,72,87,98,163,221,222} (His surname is listed as "Shafer" in the birth registration.) He was baptized on 2 December 1907 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶³ He appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² August appeared in the census in 1920 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ He died on 18 November 1968 at the age of 60 in Harvard, McHenry County, IL.^{34,72,221,222} (His obituary does not indicate his date of death.) August was buried on 21 November 1968 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^34,72,222 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
