33. James Oscar "Jim" MCNUTT Sr. was born on 5 February 1848 in Lewisburg, Preble County, OH.4,7,20
(A search of the 1850 Census records for Ohio failed to locate him or his parents.) He was Mormon about 1860 in Indiana.4 He was later ordained to the office of High Priest of the Manchester Branch of the Mormon Church on 9 July 1884. After 1864 he was a farmer in Jackson County, WI.4 He also was active in politics, serving as constable, Justice of the Peace, town clerk, surveyor and assessor.

(He cannot be located in the 1870 Census, anywhere in Wisconsin.)
Jim appeared in the census in 1880 in Millston, Jackson County, WI.12 His occupation was listed as "Farmer and Saw Mill Owner." 21 "The German Lutherans in the vicinity of the Mormon settlement are building a church near the McNutt school house. This will be a nice country church and nicely located. It will add considerably to the looks of the settlement."

James Oscar "Jim" MCNUTT Sr. and Alma Elisa "Allie" PIERCE were married on 4 February 1871 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.22,23,26,27 From an article in the Monroe County Heritage Book: "In the Fall of 1870, she came to Wisconsin, getting off the train at Rudds Mill and walking to the Mormon settlement to visit at the home of Mary McNutt. While there, she and Mary's son Jim decided to get married, and she would not go back to Michigan. Alma wrote her father and he came for the wedding. On February 4, 1871, James (Jim) Oscar McNutt and Alma Pierce were married by her father, a minister in the Church of the Latter Day Saints."

The 1900 and 1910 Census' indicated that they had 9 children, of whom 8 were living at the time. Alma Elisa "Allie" PIERCE, daughter of Isaac PIERCE and Elizabeth LARIMORE, was born on 31 August 1851 in Michigan.20,24,26 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Millston, Jackson County, WI.12 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.22 Allie appeared in the census in 1910 in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.23 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.24 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.25 Allie died on 29 October 1931 at the age of 80.20,26 She was buried in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.20,28 in the Warren Mills Cemetery.

Sadie died on 18 September 1940 at the age of 64.20 She was buried in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.20 in the Warren Mills Cemetery.
