Audrey Loraine MCNUTT was born on 21 October 1922 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.36,38 She was a member of the First Baptist Church about 1926 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.55 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.25 Audrey died on 8 December 2007 at the age of 85 in Wyocena, Columbia County, WI.38

Obituary Notes: "Audrey Loraine (McNutt) Lobenstein, age 85, formerly of Portage, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage with Fr. Jim Murphy officiating. A luncheon will follow in St. Mary School. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Audrey was born on Oct. 21, 1922, in Warrens, WI, the daughter of Frank Oscar and Florence Ellen (Frink) McNutt. She turned Catholic and married Bernard Lobenstein on Aug. 10, 1946, in Sparta, WI. She was a stay-at-home mom for 32 years. Audrey had eight children and was divorced in 1978. She went back to school and graduated top in her class as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Audrey worked at Divine Savior Nursing Home until her retirement in 1987.

Audrey’s main focus her whole life was her children. She enjoyed watching them all play in sports and then watching grandkids, too. Audrey was blessed with 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her hobbies were playing euchre, crosswords, ceramics, bowling and crocheting. She loved to watch the Brewers and Packers. Audrey loved going to the McNutt family reunions. She stayed close to her lifelong best friends, Virginia and Nello Felton. Audrey enjoyed her apartment in Portage for over 20 years, making many friends, especially Marge, Ruth, Bea and Fran. She spent the last few years at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and her great smile.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Joanne (Weber) Lobenstein of Spring Green, Gary and Joan (Ashley) Lobenstein of Dodgeville, Rick and Kathy (Babler) Lobenstein of Reedsburg; her daughters, Shari and Dan Rataczak of Montello, Julie and Mark Jordahl of Portage, Terry and Mark Plesek of Middleton, Jane and Craig Boller of Belmond, Iowa; her grandchildren, Ryan and Hillary Lobenstein, Michelle and Rick Marx, David Lobenstein, Joe Lobenstein, Josh Lobenstein, Kori and Greg Coddington, Matt and Mindy Rataczak, Karyn Jordahl, Sharyn Jordahl, Lisa Jordahl, Michael Jordahl, and Harry Plesek; her great-grandchildren, Lily Coddington and Luke Marx; her sister and brother-in-law, Erna (McNutt) and Benny Mee of Tomah; a sister-in-law, Leona McNutt of West Allis; a special nephew and niece, Jerry and Peg Hilliker of Lodi; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, David Andrew Lobenstein, her parents, nine brothers and sisters, and other relatives and friends."

Audrey Loraine MCNUTT and Bernard "Bernie" LOBENSTEIN were married on 10 August 1946 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.27,38 (His surname may have been Lobernsern.) They27,38 were divorced in 1978.38 Bernard "Bernie" LOBENSTEIN, son of Carl J. LOBENSTEIN and Helen WELLS, was born on 6 August 1924 in Adams, Adams Township, Adams County, WI.61 He died on 5 August 2011 at the age of 86 in Ripon, Fond du Lac County, WI.61

Obituary Notes: "Bernard A. Lobenstein, 86, Ripon, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon. Bernie was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Adams, the son of Carl J. and Hazel B. Wells Lobenstein. In 1946 he was married to Audrey L. McNutt; they had eight children together. In 1980 he married Laurel Nelson. Bernard graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1941. He joined the Air Force and was trained to fly B-25 bomber planes during WW II. After the war he served in the Air Force Reserve at the Tomah Armory as a Lieutenant and later joined the Army National Guard in the 732nd Maintenance Battalion in Tomah; he was assigned as a 1st Lieutenant platoon leader and retired as a Captain from the Guards. He first was employed with REA in Adams and then was employed with Wisconsin Power & Light in Tomah, DeForest and Portage. He retired from Power & Light and moved to Sun City West, Ariz., until May of 2011. Bernie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his hunting trips out west with his sons and lifelong friend, Nello Felton of Tomah.

Bernard is survived by his second wife, Laurel Nelson Lobenstein, Ripon; his children, Dennis (Joanne) Lobenstein of Spring Green, Gary (Joan) Lobenstein of Dodgeville, Rick (Kathy) Lobenstein of Reedsburg, Shari (Dan) Rataczak of Montello, Julie (Mark) Jordahl of Portage, Terry (Mark) Plesek of Middleton, and Jane (Craig) Boller, Belmond, Iowa; his 12 grandchildren, Ryan (Hillary) Lobenstein, Michelle (Rick) Marx, David Lobenstein, Joe Lobenstein, Matt (Mindy) Rataczak, Kori (Greg) Coddington, Josh Lobenstein, Karyn (Shawn) Burcum, Sharyn Jordahl, Lisa Jordahl, Mike Jordahl and Harry Plesek; five great-grandchildren, Lily Coddington, Luke Marx, Grady and Audra Lobenstein and Coalten Rataczak; his sisters, Muriel (Tony) Ruesch of Vesper, Joan Davenport of Dayton, Ore., Joyce Tormoen of Camp Douglas and Janet (Gale) Myers of Glendale, Ariz.; his brother, Joe (Shari) Lobenstein of Carlton,Ore.; his brother-in-law, Donald Kuhnke of Wisconsin Rapids; his sister-in-law Betty Hancock Lobenstein of Friendship; and many other relatives and friends.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hazel Lobenstein; his sister, Helen Kuhnke; his brother, Lawrence Lobenstein; his infant son, David; and the mother of his children, Audrey Lobenstein, in 2007.

A private family interment will take place at Arkdale Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of memorial donations, the family asks that you take time to do a good deed for someone and keep contact with your family and friends in memory of Bernie."
