Genevieve Doris "Genna" MCNUTT and Francis Lyle "Frannie" CLAY were married on 30 October 1937.1,27,57 They1,27,57 were divorced about 1940.1 Francis Lyle "Frannie" CLAY, son of Francis CLAY and Deda Julia SNOWBERRY, was born on 16 December 1907 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.1,36,38 (His obituary does not list his date of birth; it just mentions that he was 57 years of age.) He appeared in the census in 1910 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.46 He appeared in the census in 1920 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.24 Frannie graduated in 1927 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.53 from Tomah High School. He appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.25 He died on 26 July 1965 at the age of 57 in Madison, Dane County, WI.38

Obituary Notes: "Francis Clay, 57, Tomah area farmer, died Monday July 26, in a Madison hospital. He had undergone heart surgery several weeks ago, but death was due to a kidney ailment.

Services were held at 2 P.M. Thursday at the White Funeral Home in Tomah, Rev. Thomas Jarrell officiating, and burial was in the Warrens Cemetery.

Mr. Clay is survived by his widow, Eleanor; one daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Diana) McKain of Benton Harbor, Mich.; six sons, Darrell and David of Benton Harbor, Mich., Francis D. of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale and Dennis, both at home, and Rolland of Tomah; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clay of Tomah; four brothers, Kenneth, Roland, Robert and Merle, all of Tomah; and one sister, Mrs. Laura Forsythe of Tomah."
Frannie was buried in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.20,28,38 in the Warren Mills Cemetery.
