Obituary Notes: "Edwin Gebhardt Jr, age 81, of Warrens, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born on June 29, 1927, to Edwin and Sadie (Gasga) Gebhardt. Ed served in the United States Air Force.

He was united in marriage to Juanita DeFord on January 8, 1977, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Kirby. He worked as a mechanic at Fort McCoy for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; his children, Monty Gebhardt of Warrens, WI, Edwin Merle (Judy) Gebhardt of Warrens, WI, Lonnie Gebhardt of Kenosha, WI, Rodney Gebhardt of Warrens, WI, Todd Gebhardt of Warrens, WI, Preston (Brittany) Gebhardt of Sparta, WI and Cody Gebhardt of Warrens, WI, Michelle (Mike) Gilbertson of Wilton, WI, Blendena Giesen (Tom Pageal) of Warrens, WI and Atavian Gebhardt of Eau Claire, WI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Gene (Evelyn) Gebhardt and Vern “Babe” (Nell) Gebhardt all of Warrens, WI; a sister, Elaine (Langland) Morton of Warrens, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Sadie.

A celebration of Edwin’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Daren DeFord will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, near Mather. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements."
