Marrianne GEBHARDT was born on 23 July 1933 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.21,32,40 She died on 29 July 2003 at the age of 70 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.21 She was buried on 2 August 2003 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.21 in the Warren-Mills Cemetery.

Marrianne GEBHARDT and Douglas James "Doug" GRIFFIN (`) (~) were married on 4 September 1954 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.40,68 Douglas James "Doug" GRIFFIN (`) (~), son of Lyle Kenneth GRIFFIN and Myrtle May DENSMORE, was born on 11 August 1929 in Monroe County, WI.32,67,68 He died on 2 March 2012 at the age of 82 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.68

Obituary Notes: "Douglas J. Griffin, age 82, of Warrens, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at the Serenity House in Tomah. He was born Aug. 11, 1929, to Lyle and Myrtle (Densmore) Griffin in Sparta and grew up in Warrens. He was united in marriage to Marrianne Gebhardt on Sept. 4, 1954, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Warrens. They built their home in 1960, and he has lived there ever since.

Doug’s first job was mossing with his future father-in-law, Edwin Gebhardt, at Epstein Mossing Company. He also worked at the Midland Service Center, the feed mill in Warrens and at Fort McCoy as a mechanic, where he retired after 28 years. Following his retirement he kept busy by working with the village of Warrens. He was a charter member of the Town of Lincoln/Warrens Area Fire Department, where he served for more than 20 years and was assistant chief.

In his spare time he enjoyed visiting, fishing on the local cranberry marshes, hunting, going for rides, watching old westerns and the Brewers. He loved feeding the turkeys and watching the birds. He was known for his great sense of humor and his little quirky smile. Doug loved the time he spent with his family more than anything. He is survived by his children, Mary (Bill) Rezin of Warrens, Kevin (Sue) Griffin of Warrens, Alana (fiancé Jerry Werner) Brenson of Warrens, Jayne (Kevin) Robinson of Warrens and Kent (fiancé Mindy Murphy) Griffin of Black River Falls; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mary and Bill’s children, Kristi Heinz (her husband, Rick, and their children, McKenna, Jadyn and Ryan) of Warrens, Greg Rezin (his wife, Crystal, and their children, Halle and Cade) of Warrens, Kasey (Dennis Pierce) Rezin of Wisconsin Rapids, Kevin and Sue’s children, Jeremiah Sutherland (his daughter, Kylie) of Georgia, Chad Pergande (his wife, Tiffany, and their children, Cash and Daisy) of Tomah, Megan, Colton and Caden Griffin, all of Warrens, Alana’s children, Tonna Claussen (her husband, Joe, and their daughter, Kira) of Tomah, Devon Brenson (fiancé Emily Geske and their children, Elizabeth, Emilee and Carter) of La Crosse and Kelcee Klutz (her husband, Michael, and their daughter, Hanna) of Washington, Jerry’s children Amy Morse (her husband, Derick, and their children, Hunter and Lily) of Onalaska and Emily Spencer (her husband, Jeff, and their children, Natalie, Jackson and Brynnlea) of Sparta, Jayne and Kevin’s children, Jordanna, Kendall and ShayLa Robinson of Warrens, Kent and Mindy’s family, Cody, Miranda and Dylan Swennes of Black River Falls; sisters Ramona Brzeczek, Charlotte Gebhardt, Carol Brown, Garnett (Al) Tucker and Christine (John) Dunahee; a brother, Dwight (Janice) Griffin; his dog, Oreo “little fart”; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Myrtle Griffin; father- and mother-in-law Edwin and Sadie Gebhardt; his wife, Marrianne; a sister, Wanda Griffin and a brother, Donald Griffin.

We love you, Dad, and find comfort in knowing you are back in Mom’s arms. We love you and miss you, Grandpa, and are at peace knowing you are holding hands again with Grandma.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Pastor Phillip Enderle officiated. Burial followed in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens. Family and friends called for visitation Monday, March 5, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church."
