75. Kenneth D. "Ken" NEMITZ was born in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.²⁷

Kenneth D. "Ken" NEMITZ and Janette L. BLOCK were married.⁵⁹ Janette L. BLOCK, daughter of Harry R. BLOCK and Mary P. MARTEN, was born on 31 July 1940 in Black River Falls, Jackson County, WI.⁵⁹ She died on 2 January 2015 at the age of 74 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.⁵⁹

Obituary Notes: "Janette L. Nemitz, 74, of Melrose and formerly of the Town of Knapp, Jackson County died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
Janette was born July 31, 1940, in Black River Falls, to Harry R. and Mary P. (Marten) Block.

She was raised in the Millston area and married Kenneth D. Nemitz. After their marriage, the couple operated the Nemitz Family Farm in the the Town of Knapp. They moved to Melrose in 1996. Janette was very active in doing the traditional chores that were necessary for the operation of the farm. She did the books, raised animals, washed milkers and sold eggs. She also sorted cranberries during the harvest and was treasurer for the Town of Knapp for many years.

Her interests and hobbies included crocheting afghans, reading, baking and playing solitaire. She enjoyed having people around, and in Ken’s opinion, she was the “world’s best cook.”

Surviving are her husband, Ken; two daughters, Cindy (Ifeanyi Opara) Nemitz, Melrose, Lisa (William) Quackenbush, Black River Falls; her mother, Mary Block, Black River Falls; two brothers, Rynard (Edna) Block, Las Vegas, Nev., and Alfred (Diane) Block, Black River Falls; three sisters, Pearl Turks, Warrens, Rosemary Anderson, Blair, and Carol (Ron) Rittsco, Taylor; five grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, Mackenzie and Jenna Quackenbush and Jamal Opara; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry R. Block.

Private memorial graveside services will be held at a later date in Knapp Cemetery in Town of Knapp, Jackson County."
