Obituary Notes: "Reuben Raymond Schindler, 79, of Tomah, died April 3, 2004, Saturday at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse. He was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Monroe County, WI, to Elmer and Freda (Knarr) Schindler. He was united in marriage to Marlyce Markee on July 17, 1954, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Reuben farmed and worked as a sales representative for O'Brien, Mycrogen and the Olds Seed Company. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah.

He is survived by his wife, Marlyce of Tomah; a sister, Carolyn Haldeman of Altoona; two sisters-in-law, Nancee (Jack) Simmons of Florida and Sherrie Markee of Portage; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Arline Vieth and Alma Martin; and a brother-in-law, Everett Haldeman.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave. Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch officiated. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Town of Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family requests memorials be given to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Reuben's memory." He was buried on 6 April 2004 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.12 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
