137. Barbara Jean BECKER was born on 11 February 1952 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶⁹ She died on 16 August 2009 at the age of 57 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.²⁶⁹

Obituary Notes: "Barbara J. Isham (nee Becker), 57, of Tomah and formerly of Fall Creek, OR, died Sunday, Aug., 16, 2009, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Center, La Crosse. She was born Feb. 11, 1952, to Edward and Jeannette (Kewit) Becker at Sparta. She attended the St. Mary’s Catholic grade school in Tomah and graduated from the Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. She was united in marriage on July 26, 1986, to Clifford Isham in Walterville, OR. In her early years Barb worked as a waitress and bartender for the Holiday Lodge and the TeePee restaurants. While in Oregon she worked as a manager for various restaurants. Most recently she worked in the food service department at the VA Medical Center for the last eight years.

Barb enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and gardening. She and Cliff enjoyed traveling through the beautiful countryside of the Rocky and Big Horn Mountains. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and with her beloved “four-legged companions”, Bruno and Brady. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her husband Clifford; twin daughters, Kari (Marvin) Vetter of Pleasant Hills, OR, and Kristi Isham of Jackson, TN; a granddaughter, Nicky Westbrook of Murphysboro, TN; a brother, Mark (Bev) Becker of Tomah; three sisters, Mary Kearney of Wyeville, Jane Leighty of Tomah, and Rosemary (Joe) De Bartelo of Janesville; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Rosie) Isham of Eugene, OR, and Dave (Vicki) Isham of Salem, OR; three aunts, Ardella Gerke and Gladys Kewit, both of Tomah, and Jean Kewitt of Fort Meyers, FL; an uncle, Jim Kewit of Tomah, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Charles; her mother- and father-in-law, John and Dorothy Isham; a sister-in-law, Shirley Partridge, and a brother-in-law, Jim Partridge, many aunts and uncles, and a beloved pet Brutus.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today (Thursday), Aug. 20, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Edwin Stigen will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call today (Thursday) at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service."
