But several other family tree websites on MyHeritage.com list his parents as John Ambrose and Lucy (Schools) Acree; because of their numerous sources, the latter are believed to be correct.

(He may have been born near Sullivan County, TN.) He died in May 1850 at the age of 34 in Caroline County, VA.^6,24,25 He has Ancestral File Number 5BDV-V5.²⁶

William Harvey ACREE (^^) and Eliza MINOR (^^) were married on 12 May 1840 in Caroline County, VA.^6,7,25 (The family website of Jackie Acree Horst lists their marriage date as 22 April 1840.) Eliza MINOR (^^), daughter of George H. MINOR and Mary Polly GATEWOOD, was born about 1819 in King and Queen County, VA.^6,25,26 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Caroline County, VA.²⁷ (She was listed as the Head of Household, so her husband must have died before the Census was conducted on 28 October 1850.) She appeared in the census in 1860 in Sparta, Caroline County, VA.²⁸ She was living with her children and her occupation was "Teacher." Eliza died in 1880 at the age of 61 in Caroline County, VA.^6,10,25 She has Ancestral File Number 5BDV-WB.²⁶
