63. Donald A. "Don" PROCHASKA was born on 21 January 1926.145 He died on 31 August 2010 at the age of 84 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.145

Obituary Notes: "Donald A. Prochaska, 84, of Tomah, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. Donald was born on the home farm to Albert and Elsie (Albrecht) on January 21. 1926. He grew up on the farm which has been in the family for more than a century. He attended Hillcrest grade school and graduated from Wilton High School in 1944. Donald married Doris Klump on October 7, 1950. They started farming on the family farm together and purchased the farm from Donald’s parents in 1958. Don loved farming and liked to see the crops grow and was especially proud of his Holstein cattle. Don and Doris always worked as a team on their farm. After retiring in 1993, they moved to town. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Don and Doris had four children: Valorie (Alan Klug) of Caledonia, Minn., David Donald (deceased), Thomas (Pam) of Tomah, and Donna (Robert Andrus) of Tomah. He and Doris have six grandchildren: Erin (Chris Dawley), Carrie (Brandon Leipzig), Ben Laufenberg, Chad Masters, Craig Masters, and Jacob Prochaska; and four great grandchildren Hailee, Kahler, Hunter, and Jackson. In addition to his immediate family, Don is survived by numerous extended family members and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Elsie; his son David; and his sister Eunice Lueck and a brother-in-law Everett Lueck. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 3, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 303 Monroe Street, Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call (today) Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah, and at the church on Friday from 9:30 until time of the Mass. Memorials in memory of Donald may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic School."

Donald A. "Don" PROCHASKA and Doris May KLUMP were married on 7 October 1950.146,147 Doris May KLUMP, daughter of George KLUMP and Florence OLDFIELD, was born on 4 May 1928 in Glendale Township, Monroe County, WI.63,147 She died on 1 July 2020 at the age of 92 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.147

Obituary Notes: "Doris M. Prochaska, 92, of Tomah died Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta.

On May 4, 1928, she was born to George and Florence (Oldfield) Klump in the town of Glendale. She was a member of the Kendall High School graduating class of 1946. After high school she attended the Juneau County Normal School for teacher’s training. Doris taught at the Hillcrest School.

Not long after she met the love of her life, Donald Prochaska. They were united in marriage Oct. 7, 1950. They started farming on the family farm together and purchased the farm from Donald’s parents in 1958. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2010, after 59 years of marriage.

Doris was a faithful member of the Queen of Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s and served on the Cecilia Guild. Doris had a kind and generous heart and volunteered at the elections, meals on wheels, and numerous other places. She was an avid gardener and loved her violets, tulips, and roses. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her grandchildren will always remember Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies, her pies baked from scratch, and spending holidays at grandma’s. She had a contagious laugh, and a kind and generous heart. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by three children, Valorie (Alan Klug) of Caledonia, Minn., Thomas (Pam) of Tomah, and Donna (Robert Andrus) of Tomah; six grandchildren, Erin (Chris Dawley), Carrie (Brandon Leipzig), Ben Laufenberg, Chad (Jen) Masters, Craig (Stacy) Masters, and Jacob Prochaska; eight great-grandchildren, Hailee, Kahler, Gleason, Hunter, Jackson, Madison, Kenna, Quillen, and one expected great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Winkelman of Portage, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Donna Klump of Tomah. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and a son, David Donald; siblings, Helen, Phyliss, George, Terry, Angie, Francis, Leonard, Norman, Kathleen and Florence.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Queen of the Apostles at St. Mary’s, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday. Those in attendance are encouraged to use CDC recommended guidelines for social distance and safety measures."
