Ralph Louis PINGEL was born on 11 April 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.23,78,79 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.12 He graduated in 1919 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.80 from Tomah High School. Ralph appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.14 Between 1923 and 1950 he was a farmer in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.78,79 Monroe County Heritage Book Article #15: "Ralph was a farmer most of his life. His son, Howard, now lives on that farm. After moving to Tomah in 1951, he became a carpenter. He was active in the co-op movement, managed the Livestock Shipping Association in Tomah for twenty-five years, and was secretary of the board in Milwaukee. Ralph was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomah and served on the church council. He was also active in civic affairs, was on the Tomah City Council for several years and was also on the board of the Tomah Memorial Hospital for many years. He was involved in the Monroe County Fair for twenty-eight years, first as manager and then on the board. He was honored by the Tomah Lions Club on April 25, 1981 at the Holiday Lodge in Wyeville for his twenty-eight years of service." Ralph Louis PINGEL and Lula Emma DAMEROW were married on 7 June 1922.79,81,82 Lula Emma DAMEROW, daughter of Friedrich Albert DAMEROW and Adeline Albertine Johanna WESTPFAHL, was born on 5 November 1902 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.23,79,83,84,85 She was baptized on 7 December 1902 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.85 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.12 Lula appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.27 She died on 17 March 1994 at the age of 91 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.79 She was buried on 19 March 1994 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.66,79 Buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Lois Adeline PINGEL was born on 29 April 1925 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.23,86 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.27 She died on 23 July 2009 at the age of 84 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.86

Obituary Notes: "Lois A. Pingel, 84, of Tomah, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Touch of Home Assisted Living in Tomah. She was born April 29, 1925, to Ralph and Lula Damerow) Pingel on the home farm in the town of Tomah, Monroe County. She was baptized on April 25, 1925, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 2, 1939, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran School. She attended the Sunny Ridge Schoolhouse and was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1943. Shortly after graduating, she took a job at Van Pak, and worked there until her retirement. Lois enjoyed taking trips, she had many travel companions and traveled all across the United States, and overseas. While she was at home, she enjoyed spending her time taking long walks. She collected teddy bears and Beanie Bears. Lois was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces, nephews, her great-nieces and nephews, and her great-great-nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brother Howard (Laurita) of Tomah and her sister Marie (Gene) Pedersen of Warrens, nieces and nephews: Debra (Jeff) Verkuilen of Appleton, Chris (Jay) Lewis of Tomah, Robert Pedersen of Rio and De Anna (Ed) Raiten of Tomah; 10 great-nieces and nephews: Jenna (Matt) Olson of Tomah, Ryan (Cathy) Brookman of Tomah, Courtney Pedersen of Owatonna, MN, Tracy (her fianceƩ Steve Fuerst) Verkuilen of Appleton, Jason (Heather) Verkuilen of Appleton, Sean Verkuilen of Appleton, Jamie (Joshua) Mitchell of Tomah, Heather Raiten of NC, Melanie Raiten of Tomah, and Jesse Raiten of Tomah, in addition to many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor David T. Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah."
