Descendants of Jacob Jaskiewicz (Kewit)

This report contains the descendants of a family that joined the Pergande family with the marriage of August Friedrich Wilhelm Pergande and Augusta Lydia Kewit (originally Jaskiewicz) in 1910.

Lydia's great-grandfather, Jacob Jaskiewicz, was born in about 1781 in the northern portion of the Posen Province of Prussia (now Poland). He and his wife, Anna Drews, are believed to have had five children. Their four daughters are believed to have remained in Prussia. But the family of their only son, Gottfried, emigrated to America in the late-1800's and settled in Ridgeville Township

The family surname was changed to "Kewit" in the 1880's by Gottfried's son, August Johann Jaskiewicz, when his daughter Lydia and her siblings were baptized.
