1. John S. ALLEN was born on 4 July 1793 in Baltimore (City), MD.^1,2,3,4 He served in the military about 1812.⁵ He served as a "Drummer Boy" in the War of 1812. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Bad Axe Township, Crawford County, WI.⁶ John appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.² In 1880 he was a stone mason in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,7 He is said to have walked from Sparta to Warrens (more than 20 miles) to sell pelts when he was more than 100 years old. He died on 5 July 1899 at the age of 106 in Monroe County, WI.^1,3,6 John was buried in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ in the Warren Mills Cemetery.

GILLETTE, daughter of William Abrigen GILLETTE and Juliette HEAD, was born on 27 April 1842 in Putnam County, NY.^1,2,3,8 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Bad Axe Township, Crawford County, WI.^8,9 She appeared in the census in 1860 in Jefferson Township, Vernon County, WI.⁹ Sophia appeared in the census in 1870 in Viroqua, Viroqua Township, Vernon County, WI.⁹ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.² She appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ Sophia appeared in the census in 1910 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ She died on 9 April 1919 at the age of 76.¹ She was buried in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ in the Warrens Cemetery.
