Descendants of George Barden
George Barden is the earliest-known ancestor of the Barden family members that settled in Monroe County. He was born in England in the late 1500's and emigrated to America in the early 1600's. His descendants spread out to Virginia, Canada and, eventually, Wisconsin.
One of his descendants, Herbert H. Barden, was born in Canada in 1862. He married Ester Hiles in 1892 in Monroe County and they had 9 children. In 1920, their daughter Blanche married Philip Pergande, the brother of August Friedrich Pergande, who was the husband of Auguste Lydia Kewit.
