Gertrude Maxine "Gert" MUSCH was born on 27 October 1918 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.14,42 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.16 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.11 Gert died on 4 December 1999 at the age of 81 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.42 She was buried in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.57 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Gertrude Maxine "Gert" MUSCH and Raymond Walter "Ray" WESTPFAHL were married on 5 May 1937 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.38,42,58 Raymond Walter "Ray" WESTPFAHL, son of Albert August WESTPHAL and Lillie Auguste Paulina BIRR, was born on 14 August 1915 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.14,42 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.16 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.11 Ray died on 31 January 2006 at the age of 90 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.42

Obituary Notes: "Raymond Walter Westpfahl, 90, of Tomah, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta, with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 14, 1915, to Albert and Lillie (Birr) Westpfahl in the Township of Adrian, Monroe County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Glaser. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Maxine Musch on May 5, 1937, by Pastor H. Schaller in St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church at Tomah. She preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1999.

He was a tiller of the soil and loved his farm and cattle. He lived most of his life on the family century farm in Reels Valley. The only time he moved off the farm was after the farmhouse burned, and the new home was being built; he retired from farming for about six months when his wife was sick. After her death he moved back to the farm to live with his son Dick and his daughter-in-law Jean. Last May he moved to Rolling Hills due to his declining health. Ray enjoyed fishing and playing cards with their card club for many years. He worked for Carl Miller and Harry Westpfahl driving trucks and he also transported many of the children who attended the Reels Valley School, until it closed. He was a life-long member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Luann (Glenn) Marten and Marsha (Daniel) Grygleski, and a son, Richard (Jean) Westpfahl. all of Tomah; 10 granddaughters, a grandson, seven step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 34 step-great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; a nephew, Ronald Graewin; a niece, Lenoda Schmitz, and other relatives and friends

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Leona Graewin; a brother-in-law, Alvin Graewin; two nephews and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Phillip M. Enderle will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery."

He was buried on 6 February 2006 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.42 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
