72. Richard Raymond "Dick" WESTPFAHL was born on 5 March 1943 in Monroe County, WI.14,74 He died on 3 August 2012 at the age of 69 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.74

Obituary Notes: "Richard “Dick” R. Westpfahl, 69, of Tomah, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Tomah Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born March 3 1943, to Raymond and Gertrude (Musch) Westpfahl in Sparta. Dick grew up in the Reels Valley area and was a member of the Tomah Senior High School graduating Class of 1961. He was united in marriage to Margaret Rucinski in 1966. In 1976 he married Linda Meltz, with whom he had three children, Jason, Michelle and Julie. On Feb. 27, 1999, he was united in marriage to Jean Anderson at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. He loved spending his time with his family, reading, fishing, playing cards, snowmobiling and his “red tractors.” He also loved his dogs and sharing his model trains with his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing the piano and accordion, and the past years the tuba. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was proud to continue the family Century Farm, which was started in 1868 by his great-grandfather, Gottlieb and Amelia Westpfahl. He retired from milking cows in 2005 but continued growing crops for several years. He also was a supervisor for the town of Adrian for many years. Dick was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wifem, Jean; a son, Jason (Denice) Westpfahl of Oswego, Ill.; two daughters, Michelle of Weston and Julie (Ben) Halpern of Coon Rapids, Minn.; four stepchildren; six grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Luann (Glenn) Marten of Tomah and Marsha (Dan) Grygleski of Tomah; many nieces and nephews who were very special to him; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, town of Tomah."

Jean WALTERS, daughter of John WALTERS and Betty SCHUELLER, was born on 28 February 1943 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.75 She died on 22 September 2013 at the age of 70 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood County, WI.75

Obituary Notes: "Jean A. (Anderson) Westpfahl, 70, Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Tomah, passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 22, 2013, at the Renaissance. She was born on Feb. 28, 1943, to John ”Jack” and Betty (Schueller) Walters in Milwaukee.

On July 20, 1963, she married Fred Anderson and together they had four children. Their marriage ended in divorce, however; they remained friends and he was considerable help to Jean during her illness.

She lived in Wisconsin Rapids from 1946 until 1999, in Tomah from 1999 until returning to Wisconsin Rapids in February of 2013. She was employed at Riverpines Nursing Home for 19 years. On Feb. 27, 1999 she married Richard(Dick) Westpfahl. He proceeded her in death on Aug. 3, 2012. She helped him on the farm and worked at Rolling Hills for 10 years until, due to her illness, she couldn’t work any longer.

She was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Roy Walters; niece, Cheryl; brother-in-law, Arthur Mueller and her husband, Dick Westpfahl. Jean is survived by three sons: David (Rhonda) Anderson, Almond, Wis., Daniel (Cindy) Anderson, Beaver Dam, Wis., and Michael (Wanda) Anderson, Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Brenda (Chris Riechman) Anderson, Baraboo, Wis.; step-children: Jason (Denice) Westpfahl, Oswego, Ill.; Michelle (Ben Lemper) Westpfahl, Weston, Wis.; and Julie (Ben Halpern), Coon Rapids, Minn.; two sisters, Jane (Ron) Brock, Junction City, Wis., and Shirley (Ray) Klamowski, Milwaukee; ten grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Marsha (Dan) Grygleski, Tomah; and Luann (Glen) Marten, Tomah; and also many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Higgins Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26 with visitation starting at 4 until the time of the 6 p.m. memorial service. Jim Johnston will officiate."
