Deceased had many warm friends here, the scene of his boyhood days, from which he removed with his parents some time ago, and his death is greatly lamented by all who knew him.

The hand of affliction rested heavily upon him during his life and from twelve years of age until death came to his relief, he was a patient sufferer from an incurable and peculiar disease of the hip. About nine months ago, he was taken down with consumption (tuberculosis), which terminated his death.

His remains, accompanied by the parents and two brothers, were brought here for interment last Saturday evening, after a long and tedious journey by boat and over land. The funeral took place from the Lutheran church at 11 o'clock Sunday forenoon and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends."
