Descendants of Rowland Calkins
Rowland Calkins was born in the 1500's, probably in Wales. The branch of his family that eventually settled in Monroe County descended from his grandson John, who emigrated to America in the mid-1600's.
John's third great-grandson, Seth Calkins, Jr., was first noted in Monroe County in the 1860 Census. He had married Jane Root in 1831.
