Robert "Paul" BIGELOW Sr. (~) was born on 30 September 1911 in Lookout Mountain, Hamilton County, TN.^{144,260,422,426} He lived in Burkburnett, Wichita County, TX about 1915.¹³⁹ He lived in Texas for just a few years, before returning to Tennessee. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Warren County, TN.²⁶⁵ He was listed as a "Nephew" in the household of John and Mattie Smith, on McMinnville Road in Civil District 13. He was listed as "Paul." (Their relationship to him is not known, but Mattie may have been his mother's sister Martha.)
Paul lived in Borger, Hutchinson County, TX in June 1927.²⁸³ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Crockett County, TX.^264,426 He was listed as "Paul," "Single" and his occupation was "Laborer, Oil Fields." He appeared in the census in 1940 in Hobbs, Lea County, NM.⁴²⁷ His occupation was "Yard Man, Oil Well Services." His total wages in 1939 were $2,220.

Obituary Notes: "Services for Robert P. Bigelow, 70, of Odessa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bigelow was born Sept. 30, 1911, near Chattanooga, Tenn. He later moved to Burkburnett, Texas with his father, brother and sister.

He was married to Willie Gotcher Nov. 9. 1933 in San Angelo, and operated Unit Repair and Supply, Inc. on West County Road. Mr. Bigelow has been a member of the First Christian Church since 1947, and served as a deacon for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Willie; two sons, Paul Bigelow Jr. of Odessa and Glenn Bigelow of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two sisters, Flo Jean Gibbons of Midland and Louise Smartt of Fort Sumner, N.M.; one brother, Raymond Bigelow of Newport, Ky; and six grandchildren."

Robert "Paul" BIGELOW Sr. (~) and Willie Laurie "Bea" GOTCHER were married on 9 November 1933 in San Angelo, Tom Greene County, TX.^57,144,266 Willie Laurie "Bea" GOTCHER, daughter of James Thomas GOTCHER and Lillie Dale POLVADO, was born on 30 August 1916 in Utopia, Uvalde County, TX.¹⁴⁴ She appeared in the census in 1940 in Hobbs, Lea County, NM.⁴²⁷ She died on 17 January 2004 at the age of 87 in Odessa, Ector County, TX.¹⁴⁴
