William Durkee and his wife Martha Cross were married in 1664 in the Massachusetts Colony of British Colonial America.. He was born in Ireland and she in the Massachusetts Colony.

They are the earliest known Durkee ancestors of Rachel Cordelia Richardson, who married Lucius Smith Griggs in 1841. Rachel's mother was Rachel Spalding Durkee.
