Obadiah MOSHER accompanied his father to Ohio, although at that time a young man, and was married in the Buckeye State to Nancy ALLEN, a native of Vermont, a daughter of Robert ALLEN, who was a soldier of the Revolutionary War, and a cousin of the famous Ethan ALLEN. The members of his family afterward received a pension for the services he rendered his country during that long and sanguinary struggle.
After his marriage Mr. MOSHER was engaged in farming for a number of years, but in 1845 moved to Wisconsin, and became one of the honored first settlers of Chester Township, Dodge County. He entered 160 acres of Government land, cleared and fenced the same and opened up a farm. After a number of years he moved to Minnesota, and located in Wauseka County, where the last years of his life were spent. His widow passed away in 1891, at the age of ninety-three years, and both lie buried in Minnesota.
