Griggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Griggs, in the 33rd year of his age."

He died 4 days after his mother, and his grave marker is on the opposite side of hers on their grave obelisk. The cause of his death is not known, but he was a doctor and may have been treating her.

It is believed that his father and youngest sister, Hattie, are also buried at that obelisk. Osman was buried on 18 August 1877 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.36 in the Oak Grove Cemetery (Original Plat, Block 2, Lot 70).
(His middle name may have been "Judge," the same as the middle name of his mother's father.)

Dr. Osman J. GRIGGS (~) and Anna "Annie" WOODLEY were married on 4 July 1866 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.92,93,94 They were married at the M. E. Church by W. S. Wright, and their witnesses were F. C. Brock and Ruth Brock. Anna "Annie" WOODLEY, daughter of Mathias WOODLEY and Julia Ann ERWIN, was born in 1850 in Pennsylvania.37,82,95 (This is an 1866 map of Wisconsin.)

(She was listed as age 20 in the 1870 Census, indicating a birth year of about 1850, and as age 26 in the 1880 Census, which would indicate a birth year of about 1854; the latter would have put her at age 12 when she married Osmon Griggs in 1866, so the 1880 Census enumerator probably made an error.) She appeared in the census in 1860 in Pepin, Pepin County, WI.96 She appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.37,50,97 Annie appeared in the census in 1875 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.46 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Eau Claire, Eau Claire Township, Eau Claire County, WI.82 She was listed as "Allie," age 26, born in Pennsylvania, and she and her son were living with her second husband, Dr. Charles Calvert. She died on 8 August 1899 at the age of 49 in Eau Claire, Eau Claire Township, Eau Claire County, WI.95,98,99 (Her husband was a Widower in the 1900 Census.)

(Gary Griggs' research of the Forest Hill, Lakeview, St. John's Lutheran, St. Patrick's Catholic, Sacred Heart Catholic and Oak Grove cemeteries in Eau Claire failed to find her gravestone or that of her second husband, Charles.)
