Bertha Wilhelmina Mathilda "Mina" DUVIE¹¹ was born on 23 October 1869 in Pagenkopf, Kreis Naugard, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^6,11,14,17 (Her surname was spelled "Duwie" in the obituary of her husband and "Duwe" in her Marriage Registration Index.) She emigrated in 1872 from Preussen (Prussia).¹⁴ She appeared in the census in 1880 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ Mina appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ She died on 10 November 1938 at the age of 69.^17,18 Mina was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Bertha Wilhelmina Mathilda "Mina" DUVIE and Carl Friedrich August WESTPHAL were married on 23 October 1888 in Monroe County, WI.^14,19,20 Carl Friedrich August WESTPHAL, son of Karl Friedrich Gottlieb WESTPFAHL and Wilhelmine MODROW, was born on 8 December 1863 in Schonwalde, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province, Preussen (Prussia).^14,17,21 (The Oak Grove Cemetery records and the Monroe County Marriage Registration Index list his surname as "Westphal.") He emigrated about 1870.^5,19 (Her obituary indicated that she emigrated to America in 1881, but the 1910 Census listed it as 1870. It is believed to have been 1870.) He appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ He was a "Farm Laborer" in the household of Albert and Auguste Marquardt. Carl appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ His occupation was listed as "Laborer." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ He died on 25 April 1951 at the age of 87 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^17,19 Carl was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^17,19 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
