She appeared in the census in June 1885 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.36 Rose appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.9 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.16 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.17 Rose appeared in the census in 1940 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.37 She died on 2 November 1953 at the age of 90.1,33 She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33,35 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Between 1884 and 1902 he was a farmer in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.34

Obituary Notes: "George August Kuckuck was born near Necedah, Wisconsin, May 6, 1859 and passed away at his home in this city Wednesday morning, April 10 (1946), at the age of 86 years and 11 months.

When he was six years of age his family moved to a farm in the town of Tomah, where he resided until 1884, when he purchased the E. Meloy homestead in Oakdale.

On April 14, 1885 he was united in marriage with Rosa Gabower. To them five children were born. In September 1902, he moved with his family to Tomah so that the children could attend high school.

Mr. Kuckuck valued most highly the duties and privileges of citizenship and, although in failing health, insisted on going to vote in the recent election. He held offices of trust in the community. For many years he was assessor of the city of Tomah. While living at Oakdale he was at various times clerk of the township, member of the school board of his district, treasurer of the township, and an officer of the local creamery.

A daughter, Mrs. Rosa Franz, preceded him in death six years ago. Surviving besides his wife are two sons and two daughters, Lillian of Milwaukee, Fred of Minneapolis, George F. and Matie of Tomah; four grandchildren, Mrs. George Walsh of Chicago, Mrs. Howard Taft of Tomah, Mrs. Hans Kleven of Black River Falls and Sgt. Raymond O. Franz, USMC stationed at Tsingtao, China. He also leaves eight great-grandchildren. (Note: His obituary did not mention his daughter Etta.)

Funeral services were held from Ninneman Funeral Home, Friday, April 12 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The Rev. M. Z. Hovda officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Oak Grove Cemetery."

Beverly Griggs Drew thought that she was, but she was not listed with the family in the 1900 Census, nor was she listed in her sister Rose's obituary in 1940 or in her father's obituary in 1946.)
