23. Rosa Mae "Rosie" KUCKUCK was born on 22 March 1891 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.^22,25 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ She graduated in 1909 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁰ from Tomah High School. Rosie died on 28 June 1940 at the age of 49 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.²⁵

Obituary Notes: "Funeral rites for Mrs. Otto Franz, 49, were held at her home, 1500 Kilbourn Avenue, on Sunday afternoon, June 30, at 2 p.m., and at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. H. Schaller officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Franz died early Friday morning, June 28, 1940, at St. Francis hospital, La Crosse.

Rosa Mae, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Kuckuck, was born March 22, 1891 at Oakdale, Wisconsin. In September 1902 the family moved to tomah, where she attended school and was graduated from high school with the class of 1909. For four years she was a successful teacher in the rural schools of Monroe county. On June 30, 1913, she was united in marriage with Otto C. Franz. they made their home in the city where they have since resided.

Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mr. George T. Walsh, Chicago; Mrs. Howard Taft and Mrs. Hans Kleven; one son, Raymond; one grandson, Charles Wallace Taft; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Kuckuck; two sisters, Lillian and Matie; and two brothers, George, tomah, and Fred, Minneapolis, Minnesota."

. She was buried on 30 June 1940 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Rosa Mae "Rosie" KUCKUCK and Otto FRANZ were married on 13 June 1913.²⁵ Otto FRANZ was born in 1876.²⁴ He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ He was a "roomer" at the household of George Kuckuck (the father of his future wife, Rosa) . He died in 1951 at the age of 75.²⁴ Otto was buried in 1951 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Rosa Mae "Rosie" KUCKUCK and Otto FRANZ had the following children:

45	iv.	Raymond Otto FRANZ was born on 19 February 1924 in Monroe County, WI.³¹ He served in the military about 1946 in Tsingtao, China.²⁸ He was a Sergeant in the Marines in 1946. He died before October 1985 at the age of 61.²⁸
