Descendants of Georg Friedrich Gerke

Georg Friedrich Gerke and his wife, Dorothea Cathrin Tewes, were born in Lower Saxony in 1747. One of their grandsons, Heinrich O. Gerke, was born in 1811 there as well and is one of the Gerke ancestors of the family members that settled in Monroe County.

In about 1838, Heinrich married Christine Klinge, who was also from an early family that settled in Monroe County. Their descendants married into family names such as Giraud, Grabitske, Kelly, Kortbein, Kuehl, Ludeking, Pingel, Wendland and Westpfahl.
