1. Casper GETMAN was born in 1663 in Preussen (Prussia).1,2,3 Life Sketch: "The first record we have of Casper Getman and his wife and eight children, was on the Public Record Office, London England in Volume 2 number D 69. We find a list of the poor palatines who arrived at St. Catherine's June 11, 1709. This list contains the names of 1,745 refugees who arrived because they were being driven out of their homeland. Traveled to Rotterdam, Holland in 1708, arrived b in London, England 1709. Left England for settlement in Newburg, New York, West Camp on the Hudson River in 1710. He died aboard ship from England to America along with 3 daughters and 3 sons, cause of death, ship fever, now known as typhus. He was a vine keeper.Casper arrived in London 11 June 1709, as part of the fourth group of immigrants from Holland. Nearly a third of those who set out on the journey did not survive.Casper and his family were listed as follows:Getman, Casper Husbandman and Vine dresser, age 36, his wife, sons age 16, 14, 8,5 and daughters age 6,5,2,1. Two of his children were twins. The name of his wife was not listed, they were in the 4th arrivals in England in 1709 from Holland, having been delivered aboard a ship commanded by Capt. George Golands. I have found from other sources that Casper's wife was Maria Barbara his 2nd wife.Casper had two wives, Casper's first wife, Anna Magdalena was the mother of his first three children who were born in Germany. They had three sons Johann Frederick born in 1693, Johann Jacob born 1695, Johann Phillip born 1698. Anna died early in Germany. Information concerning his first wife was published by Henry Z. Jones in 1991 and was not available for inclusion in the Getman Genealogy published in 1975. Records indicate that he married Maria Barbara, his second wife, who accompanied him and his children during the migration. Making her Frederick's step mother. Maria later remarried to a man by the name of Johannes Bierman." He emigrated in 1708 from Preussen (Prussia).2,3 He and his family traveled from Prussia to Rotterdam, Holland, in 1708. They then traveled to England in June 1709 for their planned voyage to America and departed in 1710. He died in 1710 at the age of 47 in At Sea.3 He died on the voyage from Rotterdam to America.

Casper GETMAN and Anna Magdalena UNKNOWN (GETMAN) were married before 1693 in Palatine, Rheinland-Pfalz Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,2,3,4 Anna Magdalena UNKNOWN (GETMAN) was born in 1651.3 She died about 1706 at the age of 55 in Preussen (Prussia).3

Johann Philip GETMAN was born in February 1698 in Stein Bockenheim, Alzey, Hessen (Hesse) Province, Preussen (Prussia).3 He died in 1710 at the age of 12 in At Sea.3 He died on the voyage from Rotterdam to America.

(Unknown Daughter) GETMAN was born in 1703 in Palatine, Rheinland-Pfalz Province, Preussen (Prussia).3 She died in 1710 at the age of 7 in At Sea.3 She died on the voyage from Rotterdam to America.

Casper GETMAN and Maria BARBER were married before 1708.3 Maria BARBER, daughter of Moses BARBER and Susanna WEST, was born (date unknown).
