Descendants of Casper Getman

Casper Getman and his wives were born in Prussia in the mid-1600’s. (He had two wives, and the research is not clear as to which wife was the mother of their children.)

One of his sons, Johann Friedrich, emigrated to America in 1720 and married and lived in New York State.

One of Johann's descendants, Peter Frederick Getman, moved to Greenfield Township in about 1860 and married Anna Barbara Johnston. Their ten known children married into families such as Fryer, Fish, English, Bunnell, Johnston, Vandervort and Wise. Later generations married into the Vandervort family.
