36. Orilla M. GRIFFIN was born on 8 April 1864 in Monroe County, WI.^{18,29,31,35,37} (Her name is spelled "Oriles M." in the 1880 Census.) She died on 7 December 1893 at the age of 29.^29,37 of pneumonia. She was buried in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^35,74 in the LaGrange Township Cemetery.

Orilla M. GRIFFIN and William Elijah SYMONDS were married on 4 July 1886.^29,75 William Elijah SYMONDS, son of Merritt SYMONDS and Mary BATES, was born on 13 June 1856 in Trenton Township, Dodge County, WI.^{18,29,42,76,77} (The family name is sometimes found as "Symonds" or "Simmons." But in the Monroe County Birth Registration Index, the Marriage Registration Index, the 1880 Census and the 1897 Plat Book--containing the family farm--their name is spelled "Symmonds.") About 1880 he was a farmer in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁸ (His surname is spelled "Symmonds" in the census.) About 1893 he was a lumber camp worker in Wisconsin.⁵ William appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁰ His household consisted of William; his wife, Abbie; Natheta Patterson, age 7, born in WI, an unknown "grandchild': and his mother-in-law, Julia Hickox, age 76, a widow. He died in October 1938 at the age of 82 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁹ He was buried in October 1938 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^29,35 in the LaGrange Township Cemetery.
