7. Mary Elizabeth GRIFFIN was born on 22 December 1830 in Oswego County, NY.^1,19,20,21 (In the 1860 Census, she was listed as age 24. In the 1920 Census, Mary's daughter Francelia reported that Mary was born in Ohio; that is believed to have been an error.) She appeared in the census in 1850 in Monroe Township, Green County, WI.³ She was living with her parents and she was llisted as "Elizabeth." She appeared in the census in 1860 in Angelo Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ Mary appeared in the census in 1870 in Eaton Township, Monroe County, WI.²² She appeared in the census in 1880 in Oberlin, Decatur County, KS.²³ She died on 1 June 1916 at the age of 85 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,19 in Pine Grove. Mary was buried in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^19,24 in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth GRIFFIN and Orlow David BENNETT were married on 31 August 1852 in Colesburg, Delaware County, IA.^1,4,6,19 Orlow David BENNETT was born about 1819 in Ohio.^21,22,24 (He was listed as age 40 in the 1860 Census and as age 49 in the 1870 Census, indicating a birth year of about 1820. His gravestone lists it as 1815.) He appeared in the census in 1860 in Angelo Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ His occupation was listed as "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1870 in Eaton Township, Monroe County, WI.²² His occupation was listed as "Driving Team.") Orlow appeared in the census in 1880 in Oberlin, Decatur County, KS.²³ He died in 1890 at the age of 71 in Monroe County, WI.^4,19,24 (He may have died in 1896, but his gravestone lists his year of death as 1890.) He was buried in 1890 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.
