48. Virginia Rose SCHREIER was born on 30 August 1931 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.14,19 She died on 20 December 2006 at the age of 75 in Park Falls, Price County, WI.19

Obituary Notes: "Virginia Rose Beechler, 75, of Butternut died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls, Wis.

She was born Aug. 30, 1931, in La Crosse, the daughter of Peter and Hilda (Heileman) Schreier. Her early life and schooling were in Norwalk, Wis. On Nov. 22, 1960, she married Edward Beechler in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple came to Butternut in 1961 and owned and operated the Midway Bar and Restaurant until 1977.

Virginia was a cook at various local restaurants, and was the secretary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years and was very active in several church groups. She also worked for the Lions Club.

She is survived by three children, Teresa (Rudolph) Obsnuk of Huntley, Ill., Edward (Susan) Beechler of Olathe, Kan., and Ann (Christopher Townsend) Beechler of Onalaska, Wis.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Raymond of Lansing, Iowa, and Helen (Lloyd) Stiehl of Sparta, Wis.; three brothers, Dick (Joyce) Schreier of Norwalk, Wis., David (Christene) Schreier of Tomah, Wis., and Peter (Nancy) Schreier of Onalaska; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward, in 1999; her brother, Phillip Schreier; and sister Caroline Schreier.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. The Rev. James Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut. A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service Friday at the church. Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls is handling the arrangements."
