Descendants of Friedrich Helmke

Friedrich Helmke and his wife, Maria Rabe, were born in Prussia in about 1800. They were the parents of Johann “Christ” Helmke, Sr., who emigrated to America in 1856 and settled in the Germantown area of Washington County, WI. There, he married Dorothea “Elisabeth” Marten.

Christ and Elisabeth soon moved to Monroe County and raised their family of seven children, who married into families such as Buck, Pasch and Ludeking.
