16. Mildred Emma SUTHERLAND was born on 5 May 1910 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.7,26 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.2 She was living with her parents. She graduated in 1927 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33 from Tomah High School. Between 1928 and 1931 Mildred was a school teacher.7 She died on 13 September 2002 at the age of 92 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.7 at the Agape Acres Assisted Living Facility. She was buried on 18 September 2002 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.7 in the Warren-Mills Cemetery.

Mildred Emma SUTHERLAND and Arnold Sidney "Barney" JENSEN were married on 27 June 1931 in Waukegan, Lake County, IL.7 Arnold Sidney "Barney" JENSEN, son of Nels Ulrich JENSEN and Della May KLASSY, was born on 16 May 1907 in Monroe County, WI.26 Between 1932 and 1979 he was a railroad worker in Monroe County, WI.5 He died on 1 February 1994 at the age of 86 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.

Merlin Roy JENSEN was born on 29 March 1938 in Monroe County, WI.26 He graduated in 1956 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.34 from Tomah High School. He died on 19 February 2023 at the age of 84 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.35 Obituary Notes: "Merlin R. Jensen, 84, of Warrens died Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Tomah Health. He was born March 29, 1938, Arnold and Mildred (Sutherland) Jensen at the Sparta Hospital. He was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1956.

After high school he joined the U.S. Army. He worked at the stove factory in Warrens and later at Fort McCoy. He helped take care of his parents for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed camping in his VW Bus Camper, and in his later years with the WISingles Camp Group. Merlin will always be remembered for making his campfire chili and taking his daily walks around the Village of Warrens. He enjoyed spending time and developed strong bonds with his many nieces and nephews.

Merlin enjoyed working with the Crantastic Singers, as their lighting designer. It brought him joy to work with the areas youth who were singing and dancing for Jesus. Merlin found his faith in Jesus Christ later in life. He described himself as the prodigal son that found the Lord. Merlin enjoyed the simple things in life and was very quiet man. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by a sister Joyce Wagner of Tomah, a brother Kenneth (Glenda) Jensen of Machesney Park, IL, 8 nephews, and nieces, Bruce Mark (Margo) Rathbun of Pensacola FL, Karen (Mike) Kramar of Machesney Park, IL, Kevin (Amy) Jensen of Loves Park, IL, Kent (Sandy) Jensen of Apache Junction, AZ, Kraig Jensen of Machesney Park, IL, Steve (Deanna Lincoln) Wagner of Tomah, Wendy (Mike) Zellmer of Tomah, and Jody (Marty) Maassen of Tomah, many great nephews, and nieces and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Lois, and a brother-in-law Gary Wagner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah, WI 54660. Pastor Darin Oakes will officiate.  Burial will be in the Warren Mills Cemetery with military honors by the Grassmann-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201.Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
