Descendants of William Jennings, Sr.
William Jennings, Sr., was born in England about 1746 and is the earliest known member of the Jennings family whose descendants settled in Monroe County.
His grandson, George Henry Jennings, emigrated from Suffolk County, England, to America in June 1841 and first settled in Cape Vincent Township, Jefferson County, NY, where three of his children were born.
George became a U.S. Citizen on 17 Oct 1848, and in 1867 he and his family were in Monroe County. His children married members of the Belcher, Root and Wood families.
