In the baptism record of her daughter Meta, her name was listed as "Friederike Regetze.") She was christened on 9 October 1842 in Satow, Rostock District, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Preussen (Prussia).² She died on 10 June 1929 at the age of 86.⁶ Sophia was buried in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Sophia Maria Friederike JENS and Ludwig "Lewis" SCHULZ were married on 1 June 1864 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.^5,6,7,8 Ludwig "Lewis" SCHULZ, son of (Unknown) SCHULZ and (Unknown) UNKNOWN (SCHULZ), was born on 1 May 1832 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province, Preussen (Prussia).^6,8,10,11 (He served as a sponsor at the baptism of his nephew George, and his surname was listed as "Schulz." It was spelled the same way in 1867 in the baptism record of his son Heinrich. He later changed the spelling to "Schultz.") He appeared in the census in 1860 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ He was living with his brother John and his family and his occupation was "Farm Laborer." He was Lutheran in 1872 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² He was one of the first seventeen charter members who formed St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lewis died on 22 March 1910 at the age of 77 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^6,7 He was buried in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
