Heinrich Ferdinand "Henry" KEMNOW Sr.3 was born on 8 April 1834 in Wuschewier, Ostbrandenburg, Brandenburg Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,2,4,5,6 Historical Society Article: "Ferdinand Kemnow was born in Wuschiwin, Germany, on April 8, 1834 and died January 3, 1911. His parents were Daniel and Friederike Kemnow and they lived in the town of Wilton." ("Wuschiwin" may actually have been "Wuschiwier," which was located east of Berlin.) He emigrated in 1869 from Preussen (Prussia).1,7 (The 1900 Census listed his emigration year as 1868, and indicated that he had been in America for 32 years.) He appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.4 His household consisted of his 2nd wife, Auguste, and three children from his 1st marriage (Auguste, Ferdinand and Emil), two from his 2nd marriage (Louise and Emma), and two children from Auguste's 1st marriage (Auguste and Eddie Stanford). The three youngest children from his 1st marriage (Paula, William and Edith) were not listed with him. His occupation was "Farmer."

Henry died on 3 January 1911 at the age of 76 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.1,2

Auguste SCHLEUSSNER, daughter of Martin SCHLEUSSNER and Ernestine SAUERMANN, was born on 12 July 1850 in Preussen (Prussia).2,4,5 (Her surname was listed as "Schleissner" in the church marriage records, and as "Schleussner" in the baptism record of her son Karl.)
