(In the 1880 Census, there is a woman named Augusta Kortbein who was 47 years of age and born in Prussia, and who had 9 children. No husband is shown in the Census, but it may have been Frederick.) He emigrated on 15 September 1856 from Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^19,23 He emigrated from the Port of Marseilles to New York City. He was Lutheran in 1862 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^25,26 He was listed in the Church Register as member number 11 of the first 100 members of the congregation of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was one of the charter members in 1862 and was listed on the Memberbership Roster in 1900. Johanna Louisa "Louise" KUBE was born on 19 September 1842 in Zichen, Regiermngs, brzirk Frankfurth, Brandenburg Province, Preussen (Prussia).^5,6,13,19,29 She emigrated in 1858.^19,23 (The 1900 Census indicates that she emigrated in 1854, and the 1920 said 1858.)
