Descendants of Johann Friedrich Christoph "Hermann" Kuckuck

There were two Kuckuck families that had descendants that settled in Monroe County. Both of the families emigrated from Hannover, in the Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province of Prussia, so it is very likely that they were related.

This report covers the second of those two ancestral couples--Johann Friedrich Christoph "Herman" Kuckuck and his wife, Lise Dorothea Charlotte Buhmann. They were the parents of Heinrich, Conrad and George Kuckuck.

Heinrich married Minnie Peifer in Prussia in about 1847 and emigrated to America with their three oldest children. They first lived in Germantown Township in Juneau County, and eventually moved to Tomah Township, where they had another eight children. Those children married into families such as Seeker, Storm, Freemore, Gabower, Street, Zinke, Braman and Spielman.
Conrad never married, but George married Johanna “Haan” Garrens in Prussia in 1853 and they had three children before emigrating to America in the late-1850’s. Their children married into families such as Lowe, Gabower and Koeninger..
