Wilhelmine "Minnie" KUTHLOW and Friedrich "Fred" KUTHLOW Jr. were married on 12 June 1874 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.6,42,46,57 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. (They were first cousins by adoption.) Friedrich "Fred" KUTHLOW Jr., son of Friedrich Wilhelm Johann Gottlieb KUTHLOW and Anna Caroline BERGHOLZ, was born on 9 January 1849 in Somatschin, Hanland, Kreis Kolmar, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).5,8,12,42,46,50,62

He was an orphan and became a foster child of Fred and Caroline Kuthlow. He originally used the name Goodlow, but he changed his name to Kuthlow so that the Prussian Army could not locate him. He came to America as a stowaway when he was 16 years old by hiding in a ship. In the 1880 Census, his surname was listed as "Kudlow."

In the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church records, he listed his father's name as "Fred Kuthlow." The 1920 Census listed his and his parents' birth place as "Posen." He emigrated in 1868 from Preussen (Prussia).29 He appeared in the census in 1875 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.63 His household consisted of 1 male and 2 females. (His surname was spelled "Kudlow.") Fred appeared in the census in 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.8 About 1897 he was a farmer in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.64 He owned an 80-acre farm in the northeast corner of Section 11. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.29 (His family's surname was spelled "Cudela.") Fred was Lutheran in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.45 and was listed on the Membership Roster of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.49 Their household consisted of Fred, Minna, Edna and Eva. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.20 Fred died on 12 April 1924 at the age of 75 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.4,22,50 He was buried in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.10 in the Pilgrim's Home Cemetery.
