Obituary Notes: "Joyce A. Howie, nee Bernhardt, 71, of Tomah, died Friday, March 15, at Serenity House in Tomah. She was born Oct. 15, 1930, to Edward and Erma (Marten) Bernhardt at Tomah. She was united in marriage to Thomas C. Howie II, on May 1, 1976, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. He preceded her in death March 13, 2001.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Carlton Supper Club and the TeePee Supper Club. She also worked at Fort McCoy and at the VA Medical Center. She was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, at 11 A.M. from St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery." Joyce was buried on 19 March 2002 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^60,71 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
