54. Harold Adolph NIENAST was born on 29 July 1913 in Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.^4,28,29 He graduated in 1931 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸⁵ from Tomah High School. He died on 28 November 2005 at the age of 92 in Marshfield, Wood County, WI.^4,28

Obituary Notes: "Harold A. Nienast, 92, of 1016 South Adams Ave., Marshfield, died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at the Wells Nature View, where he had lived.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Peter Ruggles officiating. Committal services were at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah with his grandsons serving as pallbearers: Jeff Aschenbrenner, Shannon Nienast, Coy Jelmeland, Jason Lenz, Ralph Lyon and Kelly Thompson.

Visitation was at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until time of the services on Thursday.

Harold was born on July 29, 1913, in Sparta, to Adolph and Minnie (Lobe) Nienast. He graduated from Tomah High School. He was united in marriage to Merea G. Woombill on June 13, 1936, in Dubuque, IA. She died on Jan. 8, 1995.

They had a dairy farm in the Tomah area until moving to Elkhorn in 1961. He was then employed at Southern Colony in Union Grove until his retirement. Then in 1986, they moved to Marshfield. Harold enjoyed fox hunting, horse racing and dancing.

Harold is survived by one son, Lamont H. (Jewel) Nienast of Marshfield; two sisters, Lana (James) Aschenbrenner of Phillips and Lennis (Richard) Jelmeland of Minocqua; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a special friend, Marge Zeidler of Marshfield.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Merea, two brothers and two sisters."

Harold Adolph NIENAST and Merea Genevieve WOOMBILL were married on 13 June 1936 in Dubuque, Dubuque County, IA.^28,99 Merea Genevieve WOOMBILL, daughter of William "Willie" WOOMBILL and Jennie Mary ABBOTT, was born on 14 March 1914 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^4,99 She died on 8 January 1995 at the age of 80 in Marshfield, Wood County, WI.^4,42
