Kay Ellen NIENAST and Wesley Wayne "Toby" KING Jr. were married on 6 June 1964 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^4,39,140 Wesley Wayne "Toby" KING Jr., son of Wesley Wayne KING and Shirley RUSSELL, was born on 28 January 1946 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.¹⁴⁰ He died on 4 April 2009 at the age of 63 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.¹⁴⁰

Obituary Notes: "Wesley Wayne “Toby” King Jr., age 63, of La Crosse, Wisconsin and formerly of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009. He was born on Jan. 28, 1946, to Wesley and Shirley (Russell) King in La Crosse, WI. Toby married Kay Nienast on June 6, 1964, and later divorced. They had two children, Christopher and Kelli. On July 29, 1988, he married Marilyn Kohlman in Minnesota and also spent time in Colorado and New Mexico.

Toby grew up and spent many years in Tomah where he was proud to be a Tomah Indian wrestler and football player. He worked at his father’s body shop, King Auto Body. He also spent many years working as a machinist on the Milwaukee Railroad. Toby loved to hunt and tinker around with cars. Both of these were lovingly shared with his brother Gary, his son Chris and his grandson, Weston. We remember his playful tease and whispered secrets he shared with his sister, Carol. Toby’s wife Marilyn, his daughter Kelli and granddaughter Samantha held a special place in his heart. In recent years he enjoyed the time with his newest grandchildren, Connor and Kelsi Torkelson. We will miss his laugh, his jokes and his stories around the campfire, as well the special meals he would prepare. Toby was a special man who always lent people a helping hand whenever he could. We are all deeply saddened by the death of our dad, grandpa and brother. We love him and will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Cindy) King of Stoddard, WI and Kelli (Chris) Torkelson of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Samantha and Weston King of Stoddard, WI and Connor and Kelsi Torkelson of Alpharetta, GA; a sister, Carol (Robert) Littlejohn; a brother, Gary (Eleanor) King of Fond du Lac, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marilyn.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 1 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Edwin Stigen will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
