Albertine Wilhelmine Friederike WESTPFAHL was born on 10 July 1873 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.^{7,13,14,19,24,44,50} (Her surname was spelled "Westpfahl" in the Marriage Registration Index.) She was baptized on 31 August 1873 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Albertine was confirmed on 3 April 1887 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She died on 29 March 1959 at the age of 85.⁵⁰ She was buried on 31 March 1959 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^50,51 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Albertine Wilhelmine Friederike WESTPFAHL and Wilhelm Albert Karl "William" BACKHAUS were married on 7 June 1892 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^14,24,44 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Wilhelm Albert Karl "William" BACKHAUS, son of Karl Friedrich BACKHAUS and Johanna MATZKE, was born on 29 September 1865 in Preussen (Prussia).^{7,13,17,44,51,52} (Some family records list his birth place as Germany, but it was listed as Wisconsin in the 1880 Census.)

(His surname is spelled "Bakhouse" in the Oak Grove Cemetery records.) William appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He was Lutheran in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ He was listed on the Memberbership Roster of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ William died on 11 November 1921 at the age of 56.^20,51 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵¹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Henry appeared in the census in 1920 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ He died on 11 January 1953 at the age of 78.⁵⁴
