(His surname was spelled "Westphal" in the church confirmation and "family record" registers, but as "Westpfahl" in the Marriage Registration Index for his first marriage.)

(The 1880 Census incorrectly indicated that he was born in Germany.) He was baptized on 1 August 1875 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Bill was confirmed on 14 April 1889 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁶ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He appeared in the census in 1910 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ Bill appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.³² He died on 8 July 1947 at the age of 72 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,54 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

August Wilhelm Carl "Bill" WESTPFAHL and Minna Louisa "Minnie" KELLER were married on 12 April 1898 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^{1,14,24,39,54} (In the Monroe County marriage records, his given name is listed as "August.") (His obituary indicates that he was married in 1897.) Minna Louisa "Minnie" KELLER, daughter of Johannes Karl KELLER and Friederike MUELLER, was born on 3 August 1873 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^{7,13,39,54,60,61} (Her surname may have been Keller. It is spelled Kellar in a newspaper article about her wedding.) She was baptized on 1 September 1873 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was confirmed on 25 March 1888 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Minnie appeared in the census in 1900 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ She appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.³² Minnie died on 3 March 1941 at the age of 67 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.⁵⁴ She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
